Who We Are
Let It Slide is an alternative solution to the violence infesting our community. Our programs are designed to redirect our youth and young adults in ways that cultivate their grifts and educate them in a trade that ultimately leads to better choices, more opportunities and an overall better way of life, instead of turning to the streets and/or criminal activities.
The Problem
Violence
Louisiana is 247% higher than the nation average in crime. 1 in 109 residents have a chance to become victim of a violent crime. For every 100,000 people, 36 are murdered.
Education
Louisiana is the 3rd least-educated state in the country. Also ranked 4th lowest among the percentage of residence who have high-school diplomas.
Unemployment
According to the BLS survey, the unemployment rate is 6.6%. The state unemployment rate is 1.2% higher than the national average.
Homeless
Homelessness in LA increased by 7.9% with 3,173 people experiencing homelessness. 36.7% of homeless were sheltered while 63.7% were unsheltered.
Poverty
The poverty rate is 5.5% higher than the national average of 13.1%. An estimated 843,626 people live below the federal poverty line. Unacceptable for our city.
Foster Care
Some foster care children have been physically abused, and have symptoms of mental illness. Males who age out of foster care have a high chance of becoming homeless.

Our vision is to create a revolving door open to at risk youth and young adults. We offer them the opportunity to choose a positive and fulfilling life.

In our hearts we believe adolescences, teenagers and young adults can only use and operate the tools that they are given in life.
Through Let It S.L.I.D.E., we are equipping our participants with the tools and skills that give life through creating positive music, renovating homes and commercial properties through carpentry and painting, encouraging and assisting them with their educational studies, and also empowering them with knowledge from proven successful mentors.
